As the purchasing officer your position is an important role in the Company as it will have a direct impact on profitability and efficiency. This will include but will not be limited to:
The position entails the following:
- Responsible for the selection and identification of suppliers for the required materials in line with tender specifications established by the technical department to maximise competitive advantage
- Negotiate payment terms with suppliers
- Identify and negotiate materials with suppliers
- Manage and continuously communicate with store keepers to ensure that all materials are ordered and delivered in a timely manner
- Together with store keepers ensure optimal levels of inventory i.e. avoid overstocking and obsolescence as well as out of stock situations
- Assist company Project Managers to help fulfil their requirements in terms of material requests as well as sub-contractors
Applicants must have a clean police conduct and driving license, and an attractive salary is given for the right applicant
